That long???

This is the hundredth (give or take – I've doubled some numbers, and missed others...) issue of this thing.

Little did I think when I did the first one in 1990 that it'd go on this long, or that there would be so many of them.

All have been done on my (or somebody else's) computer except for one, done on my manual typewriter during a period of computer failure. Not all have been done by me – thanks Roger (Robinson) many times over, but more recently I have managed to make sure that an issue appears practically every month, despite the only light at the end of the tunnel frequently turning out to be the oncoming train. And as I write this one, I'm still in B&B, trying to get some sense out of the local estate agents over rented flats... And I will probably not be able to get together with a phone for another week and a half... [Sorry, Internet subscribers...:-( ]

'During these hundred editions I've used five computers (an Atari ST and 4 IBM compatibles), but really only two DTP packages (several upgrades) so that one of the paragraph styles is still called John, after John Brunner. It's difficult to believe it's been five years since I said I'd see him tomorrow... and there's been more losses since. Still, life goes on. Here's to the next ten years, and the next hundred issues...

New Fans?

Congratulations to Brian and Caroline on the birth of their daughter Meriol, Morris and Lori on the birth of their son Joseph, and to Filip on the birth of his daughter Sandra.

Invisible dogs...

Czech Fandom started issuing regular daily news (http://pes.eunet.cz/scifi/) on Friday May 26th, 2000. This Internet newsletter is intended to be a regular daily information source about activities in Czech and Slovak Fandom, as well as about world SF&F events and people. The Czech SF writer and Internet publisher Ondrej Neff has given great support to this venture, which is formally part of his own successful "Invisible Dog" – "news about our politics, my family and my dog".
