Camp at home...

The eagle eyed among you may have noticed that there is a real address at the top. At long last I have got somewhere to live.

I am now renting a tiny little 1980s house in Abingdon – a kitchen/living room downstairs, and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Also a postage stamp lawn and a barbeque that I haven't yet used. Best of all, I now have my own phone, and hence Internet access again. I'm still catching up on all of the things that I should have done in the last nine months.

Only problem is, I have no furniture yet. Mine is still in storage, I have four folding chairs and am sleeping on a rather short camp bed (Chinese – army surplus?). :-)

Congrats to Dave Langford for yet again winning Best Fan Writer in the Hugos.

The Czech Republic won the bid for the 2002 Eurocon over Helicon after an extremely professional bid presentation. They are offering a package including sightseeing in Prague and some other bits of the Czech Republic... I can recommend the beer...

In the latest SF in Ireland Newsletter James Shields mourns the loss of yet another bookshop in Ireland with a good SF stock. No only has the Flying Pig now closed, but many other good SF sources have now gone. Subscribe at: blackrock[at]connect.ie
